setting up naturalistic initiatives

Group and personal excursions are great media to improve our naturalistic skills. Each excursion is a new opportunity to recognize and learn about new species.

Maures plain hike

During the 2021 summer, a heavy wildfire ravaged over 60 km2 of the Maures massif, weakening the whole ecosystem. Among its inhabitants, the emblematic Herman turtle was one of the first victims. 
In 2023, during our group excursion, we were able to acknowledge the consequences of the fires on the plain , as well as the ecosystem's resilience. During the plain hike, we learned how to identify many plant species in fun and educational ways.
